Short, Fast And Deadly CIRCUIT 1

 

Have you ever put off exercising because the thought of spending hours upon hours at the gym wasn't sparking your interest? We don't blame you! But what if we told you that exercising didn't have to take your hours on end to be effective and that a quick 20 to 25 minutes and your own body weight was all you needed? 

Sound too good to be true? It's not! Enter HIIT. Or high intensity interval training. This style of exercise has so many benefits including:

  • Increasing your metabolism
  • Weight loss (not muscle loss)
  • It is fantastic for your cardiovascular system; your heart
  • You literally need 0 equipment to get it done
  • You can mix up your workout everyday
  • And the obvious reason, it takes very little time!

Now that we have covered the why, lets get onto the how. There are so many variations of HIIT, but because we get bored easily, we ensure to mix up the exercises we incorporate. Try out the following and let us know how you go! This circuit is a 1 minute on, 10 seconds off style circuit. 

Repeat the following 2 times (for a total 20 minutes work, 3 minutes rest)

1 minute on: high knees
10 second rest
1 minute on: jumping jacks
10 second rest
1 minute on: mountain climbers
10 second rest
1 minute on: jump squats
10 second rest
1 minute on: burpees
10 second rest

1 minute on: crunches
10 second rest
1 minute on: jump lunges
10 second rest
1 minute on: push ups
10 second rest
1 minute on: plank
10 second rest
1 minute on: burpees
10 second rest
